Why free?

JP Transcribe uses Vosk on contributor CPUs plus free Google Translate on the server. Lightweight coordinator — no GPU farm, no paid tiers.

Run worker.py for full access, or try server demos. Fair-use rate limits prevent abuse.

Is it really free?

Yes. Translation is always $0. Transcription is free via the community pool — run a worker on your PC or use 3 server demos/day. Generate a key on the get key page.

Are there monthly minute caps?

No monthly caps when using your worker or pool credits. Server demos are limited to 3 per IP per day (30 second clips). Rate limit: 10 requests per minute per key.

What is the community worker pool?

Run worker.py on your machine to transcribe locally. You get free API access for your key, and earn credits when you help process others' jobs. See the worker guide.

Do I need a credit card or email?

No. Click generate, copy your API key, and go.

Will you add paid plans later?

Not planned. The core API stays free. If we ever add optional extras, the free tier won’t shrink.
